Jim Reid (Executive Director)
Jim has been with MBO since 1997 and has been directly involved and gained progressive employment experience in the field of Community Economic Development over the past decade. Jim's experience as an entrepreneur, employment through various positions held in the private and public sector, and volunteering in the community, serve as invaluable assets for the undertaking as Executive Director. Bernadette Coady (Senior Business Development Officer)
Upon graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce from University, Bernadette Coady accepted a maternity replacement in the Economic Development field. During this position, she fell in love with economic development and the gratification that comes with helping people reach their self-employment potential. Eleven years ago, Bernadette accepted a position with MBO as a development officer. She has provided advice, counseling and financial assistance to hundreds of entrepreneurs.

Linda James (Business Development Officer)
Linda has brought to MBO seven years experience assisting people start and grow their business with the Community Business Development Corporation (CBDC) in Central Newfoundland. During her time with CBDC - Central she was also actively involved in the community as a volunteer. She was a member of the CBDC Provincial Association Marketing Committee which resulted in her attending many official functions. She organized an annual forum for the CBDC offices and partnering agencies of Central NL for program review.
She was also a member of the Central NL chapter of the Newfoundland and Labrador Organization of Women Entrepreneurs (NLOWE) and held the positions of Vice-Chair and Chairperson. These examples outline only a small portion of her volunteer activities and committed involvement in the community.

Mike Evoy (Business Development Officer)
Michael is the most recent addition to complement MBO's already experienced and dedicated staff. Michael has been involved in client service for over 20 years and has worked with both not for profit and for profit organizations.
As owner of his own accounting / bookkeeping and business consulting firm since 1992, Michael brings entrepreneurial experience and knowledge to MBO, which he plans to share with new and existing clients.

Steve Butler (Business Development Officer)
For the last number of years Steve has been assisting clients with all aspects of business development and planning. After graduating, Steve took a position with the Faculty of Business at Memorial University and provided counseling advice and direction to the various programs and services that exist to meet the client's business start-up needs.
This has led to his current position with Metro Business Opportunities. Steve is anxious to work with new clients and continue supporting them as they discover new opportunities in hopes of establishing their own business ideas. Steve is also a Junior Achievement Coach helping students develop an appreciation of life-long learning for business and apply their talents in a risk-free, yet true-to-life business environment.
Steve holds a Bachelor of Commerce Cooperative Degree from Memorial University, an Information Technology Certificate from the University of New Brunswick, as well as a Masters Certificate in Project Management from York University in Ontario. Lisa Guy (Executive Administrative Assistant)
Lisa Guy is the face of MBO, she is the Administrative Assistant, and the first point of contact that many clients have with our organization. She started work with MBO in the summer of 2007 and enjoys working with MBO clients.
Lisa graduated from Memorial University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree and since that time has worked with Modern Business Equipment Ltd as well as the Department of Industry, Trade and Rural Development where she has gained over ten years of experience in the customer service industry. To enhance her customer service portfolio, she has completed professional development courses in Simply Accounting and Microsoft Office. Lisa enjoys being part of a team helping entrepreneurs create meaningful self-employment opportunities for themselves.
